1 week agoby johnny_phungMany keyboard warriors and anonymous Internet lifters have called my overhead press (and other lifters' OHP) a "standing incline bench press". This is incorrect.
With an incline bench press, like the bench press, the back is placed against an immovable object (a bench). It is then used to be pushed against something else (a barbell). With the overhead press, the body is not secured by an immovable object, so stablizing the body while pressing a barbell overhead is probably a little harder than a standing incline bench press (NOTE: never used a standing incline bench before - or even seen one in real life, so I can't say with 100% certainty). A REAL "standing incline bench press" looks like this.
